Select Qualified Clients That Need Help

Because over 300 Schools, Churches, Medical Groups, Counseling Centers, Senior Service agencies, Shelters, Specialty Programs and Non Profits send qualified people to the Unity Shoppe, we are able to provide better and more consistent support to more people by reducing duplication of services. Unity qualifies and documents everyone and allows them to shop for their needs in our central distribution facility, offering better services with respect for their needs during times of crisis.

Records kept show us that 18,340 to 20,000 (8,986 children visits) people need some assistance annually. If we help them, they can avoid dependency on welfare services, food stamps and homeless situations. We assist them by supplementing their income with needed food, clothing and work-skills to improve their ability to work toward self-sufficiency and in doing this, they can pay their rent and avoid more difficult situations if they lose their housing.

62% are single parents raising their children alone, 70% are in the workplace; 18% are seniors or disabled and 12% are children. 46,743 people visits were made to the Unity Shoppe in 2016.
